Three players take part in the game. Each player is dealt 12 cards and one open card is placed on the table. Tongits Go Rules and Strategy

Basic Rules

In Tongits Go, three players play with a standard 52-card deck. Each player receives 12 cards per round and the dealer places one card face up in the middle.

  • Set: Three or four cards of the same rank (e.g., three 7s)
  • Run: Three or more consecutive cards of the same suit (e.g., 5-6-7 of Hearts)
  • Tongit: When all cards in your hand are matched and no cards remain
  • Secret: Drawing the dealer's open card to finish your hand
  • Challenge: Challenging another player's "Tongit" call

Each number card is worth its face value. Face cards (J, Q, K) are each worth 10 points and the Ace is worth 1.

Winning Strategies

Tongits Go is entirely skill and strategy based. Alongside luck, good judgment plays a major role here.

Match Quickly

Right from the start of the game, carefully arrange your cards and identify possible sets and runs.

Watch Your Opponents

Pay attention to which cards other players are picking up or discarding — this will help you keep your strategy on track.

Reduce Your Points

If completing a Tongit quickly is not possible, try to discard the high-value cards in your hand.
